Late again

A Songwriters Challenge

What: An event where songwriters will present an original song, all using the same song title and having been given one month to work on it. This is open to all genres of music.

Song Title: “Late Again” This title was given to us by William Love, local songwriter and Phoenix Area Coordinator for the world wide songwriter organization “SongsAlive!”

When: 2:00pm-6:00pm, Saturday, June 7, 2008

Where: Chino Bandidos in Chandler, 1825 W. Chandler Blvd. Map to Chino Bandidos

(SE corner of Dobson and Chandler Blvd. behind Walgreens)

San Marcos Square, Chandler, AZ 85224, (480) 889-5990

How to get involved: Write a song entitled “Late Again” and be prepared to present it live at the event. We ask that the song be presented live as it makes the event much more interesting to the audience. If you are not a performer and need help in finding a person to perform your song, email me and I can offer assistance. A sound system will be provided. To participate, contact Chris Frazer at chris@azopenmic.com and put “songwriters challenge” in the subject header and indicate that you want to be involved.

Prizes: Drawings will be held for studio time, services and merchandise. Currently we have 5 hours of studio time from Desert Vista Studios, 4 hours of studio time from Alan Kovin of ZonaMusic, 2 hours of rehearsal time at Soundworks practice facilities (2 certificates donated), and 1 free admission to a song pitch from the Arizona Songwriters Association. I am certain there will be other donations before the event takes place. I will make sure and put that on updates.

Consider yourselves challenged. You have 30 days…get to writing!

I will keep you posted of updates and changes to the event. I’m attaching a flyer, however you will see much better ones coming out thanks to Erick Johnson of Desert Vista Studios who is partnering with me in this venture.
